Aluminium 7050 Sheets and Plates are made from a robust aluminium-zinc-magnesium-copper alloy, typically featuring 5.7–6.7% zinc, 1.9–2.6% magnesium, and 2.0–2.6% copper. This alloy boasts impressive tensile strength of around 510 MPa, along with outstanding fracture toughness and fatigue resistance. With a density of about 2.83 g/cm³, it offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Additionally, it shows remarkable resistance to stress corrosion cracking when compared to 7075. While machinability is good, corrosion resistance is moderate but can be improved with anodizing or protective coatings.
